Carpet Collection
As her first foray into interiors, this limited-edition capsule carpet collection has been handmade by talented women weavers in Afghanistan as part of a longtime partnership between Katherine and Turquoise Mountain non-profit organization, founded by HRH King Charles III.
Turquoise Mountain Charity, with support from the Qatar Fund for Development, and Label:Step, has commissioned Katherine’s signature design inspiration of global historic art, culture, and nature, combined with ethical luxury artisan practices for an entirely new medium.
Inspired by multicolored wildflowers in an archeological site of Umm Qais at the north of Jordan near the Syrian border, Katherine’s inspiration of the flora and fauna discovered by the travelers along the Silk Road are woven in muted colors that combine the history with modernity for contemporary homes.
Carpets are available by order through Katherine Parr and Turquoise Mountain, as well as select retailers, including Oscar Isberian in Chicago. Please see below for further details and design coloration variants from this exclusive capsule collection.
Turquoise Mountain works to preserve excellence in heritage craft and create employment and pride in conflict zones and has collaborated with Katherine since her first jewelry collection with their artisans in Afghanistan in 2016.
